Included are staff to set-up and run the event, computerised scoring, PA equipment for race commentary and all necessary equipment. We require empty indoor space and 500W of mains power. Model slot car racing is great fun for just about everyone, both genders and ages 4 to 94.When a wide age range is at the same function, play is often split into groups; Children, Ladies, Gents. Giving all a turn and preventing children pushing to the front and playing non-stop. Also adults appear embarrassed to win or lose against a child for some reason! Contrary to the "boys thing" image, lady players are surprisingly enthusiastic, no reversing is a help, obviously. Beginners and experts can play in the same tournament without frustration or embarrassment. Physically handicapped players are often not at any disadvantage or have fun anyway. Clearly a wheel chair is no problem but even blind people give it a bash. Enthusiasm is the same across the Nationalities. Non-English speaking players may not understand the race director but they always get the general idea. When the game is presented well, players once convinced they would not enjoy the event usually do. Few games have such a universal appeal as Model slot-car racing. The whole racing night can be organised as a knockout competition leading through to the Grand Final, or it can be just a casual side attraction where guests race 20 laps against the clock at their leisure, with prizes given for the fastest times. The choice is yours. We supply the exciting Scalextric track and all supporting equipment to make it a night to remember. Our race commentator and pit stop mechanic are there to make sure the races run without a hitch and to help build the excitement of a real F1GRAND PRIX! Watch the tension build as each competitor takes his/her place on the starting grid for a quick couple of warm up laps. The race begins with up to 4 competitors per race, driving round corners, hairpins and a long fast straight. How many people can take part?To date our smallest group size is 6. We recommend larger groups. Players enjoy a break from the intensive play and concentration. More players gives greater atmosphere, time to relax and chat, drink, eat etc. On a practical note more players reduces the price per head. 15- 45 is the ideal group size. With larger groups additional entertainment is recommended, maybe more tracks or just other things, Fun casino, simulator machines, table football, disco, band etc. What do Cabaret Casino staff do?We bring all equipment and set-up in a suitable venue.Setting-up time is usually under 1hr, although an extra 1hr is generally advisable for contingency. Packing away takes about 40min. Equipment will fit in a lift so events can be held on any floor. If flights of stairs are unavoidable prior notice is appreciated. Extra staff are sometimes necessary to carry the equipment. Great track, cars and computerised scoring is just the start. There is a very important job to make the event run well. I call the job "Race Director" This is the job brief: Referee the game, using the public address system and radio microphone to address the crowd with race commentary, jokes etc. Organise the structure of the game using the computerised scoring. Make sure the rules are clear and policed. How do we organise the event? The Race Director uses experience and a structured competition to get the most from the event. The exact running details will depend on many things. Size of group, age of group, other entertainment or distractions running at the same time in the same area. A simple game format is best if distractions are many, or a more challenging match if the concentration of players can be expected. With a plan and the computerised scoring the Race Director is ready to make the most of the event. How long does the event last? You never really know who will refuse to play and who will play for six hours non-stop if allowed. Fortunately most people fit between these extremes. If slot-racing is the only entertainment, a group of 20-40 will play enthusiastically for 1-2 hours. A game plan giving individuals 8 qualifying heats, followed by the top 8 drivers going through to a final set of 8 heats works well. This is one of the many game styles our bespoke computerised scoring greatly simplifies. The race director will choose the best option on the day. Contractually we normally quote for up to three hours of game play. We are always happy to quote for extended running time. How big are the tracks?4 Lane Tracks: Ideal Room Space 6.2 x 4 Metre min (20ft x 13ft)
